VST3 · Sampler-Synthesizer

Turn any sound into a playable instrument.

Multimode sampler-synthesizer for harmonic resonance and spectro-modal resynthesis.

Vivo is a VST3 sampler-synthesizer designed to turn samples, noise, and live audio into expressive, organic, playable instruments.

It combines two complementary synthesis engines: a harmonic resonance engine, based on Peak filters that follow the played MIDI note, and a spectro-modal resynthesis engine, which analyzes the sample and recreates its behavior using sinusoidal oscillators with natural decay.

The result is an instrument that sits somewhere between sampler, resonant synthesizer, and modal resynthesis: you load a sound, play MIDI notes, and Vivo reorganizes that material into rich, alive, moving musical timbres.

What Vivo does

Vivo turns any sound source into harmonic material. You can use:

Samples

Load recordings, single notes, textures, noise, instruments, voices, loops, or percussive sounds.

White or pink noise

Create pads, breathy tones, textures, and synthetic sounds with harmonic body.

Live audio from your DAW

Use Vivo as a resonant processor and transform any signal in real time.

Resynth

Use the spectro-modal resynthesis engine to extract the spectral behavior of a sample and recreate it with 8 modal oscillators.

Two synthesis engines

An organic resonator bank and a precise spectro-modal resynthesizer.

Harmonic Resonance

In its main mode, Vivo uses a bank of 8 harmonic Peak filters.

Each filter resonates at a harmonic of the played MIDI note. The plugin extracts the resonant energy from those filters and sums the harmonics to reconstruct a new timbre from the original source.

This makes it possible to turn simple sounds, noise, or ordinary recordings into melodic, resonant, expressive instruments.

Great for:

  • organic pads
  • experimental keys
  • resonant basses
  • textured leads
  • hybrid timbres
  • creative processing of DAW audio

Spectro-Modal Resynthesis

The Resynth mode uses spectral analysis of the sample to control 8 sinusoidal oscillators.

Instead of filtering the original audio, it recreates the behavior of the partials with controls inspired by modal synthesis: excitation, ring, damping, inharmonicity, brightness, and spectral response.

It is ideal for creating timbres with acoustic, metallic, percussive, modal, or spectral behavior.

Vivo VST interface

Direct harmonic control

Vivo's lower panel lets you adjust the volume of each of the 8 harmonics individually.

This gives you direct control over the color of the sound:

  • Emphasize the fundamental for purer tones
  • Raise even harmonics for smoother timbres
  • Use odd harmonics for hollower or more instrumental colors
  • Shape each partial in Resynth as if sculpting a modal instrument

Each harmonic can also have its own modulation, including LFO, envelope, and individual clipping.

Main features

Who it is for

Vivo was made for producers, sound designers, and musicians who want to create uncommon timbres without losing musical control.

It works especially well for:

  • electronic music
  • scoring
  • ambient
  • experimental music
  • sound design
  • alternative pop
  • cinematic textures
  • hybrid instruments
  • creative sample processing

If you like transforming simple sounds into expressive instruments, Vivo was built for that.
